our Projects
Our Footprints stives on delivering projects that contribute to the wellbeing of the vulnerable in the communities. We have managed to work in different communities in Zambia and reached a number of people.
Autorefractor
Towards the end of of 2022, we started a fundraiser to raise funds to buy an autorefractor for Lusaka Eye Hospital. In July 2022 we were able to hand over the autorefractor to the Lusaka Eye Hospital. This equipment will help the hospital to perform the eye screenings more efficiently and in turn help the hospital reach even more people. The autorefractor will primarily be used at the hospital but will also be used during the outreach programs and school screenings that the hospital undertakes. Through this more underserved communities will be reached.
LUSAKA EYECARE
In August, we had the privilege of piloting our eye care program with a donation of 340 lenses, 145 frames and 15 sunglasses to Lusaka eye hospital which would go towards helping those in need at the hospital. We thank our partners Buffing Optiek and Bouman Optiek & Optometrie for making this possible.
chipata
In August 2021 we had the opportunity to visit Chipata Hospital and with the help of our donors, we were able to give baby and children's clothes to the babies and children in the pediatric wards at the hospital.
WINTER 2020
In the winter period of 2020 we collected another set of winter jackets which we were able to donate to Riverside Extention School in Kitwe. These jackets were given to vulnerable children in that school. We also donated the winter jacket to children in Kitwe Hospital.
MAKULULU
December 2020, we gathered all the donations we had received. From The Netherlands, Canada and Zambia, donors gave school bags and school materials. We donated these items to school going children in Makululu coumpound in Kabwe. We also visited children from Arteco Orphanage and House of Hope safe house, whom we could make happy with the school bags and materials.
WINTER 2019
In June 2019, the winter started in Zambia and we identified a community in Kabwe with kids that could use a little help. These kids were walking around in what has been one of the strongest winters in Zambia with nothing warm on them. We decided to help and fundraised through friends and family and bought a bale of winter jackets. Seeing the happy faces of these kids faces and their parents gave us the fuel we needed to register Our Footprints Foundation and start working.
